Manning is AFC player of the week

November 19, 2008

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in last Sunday's victory over the Houston Texans.

Manning completed 30-of-46 passes for a season-high 320 yards and two touchdowns as the Colts stretched their winning streak to a season-best three games. He also earned the weekly honor for leading the team to a win over Baltimore in Week 6.

During the team's three-game winning streak, Manning has compiled a 104.0 passer rating by completing 62.6 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns and zero interceptions.

The team also announced several roster moves.

It signed tight end Jamie Petrowski and defensive back Brandon Foster and placed rookie tight end Tom Santi and cornerback Nick Graham on the injured reserve list.

The Colts released tight end Eric Butler and quarterback David Greene from the practice squad and signed defensive back A.J. Davis, wide receiver Marques Hagans and safety Brannon Condren to the practice squad.
